The Cottage: Renvyle Coast Guard Station is a historic building and the cottage is in a row of terraced cottages tastefully renovated approximately 25 years ago. The cottages were built on a high elevation to view the sea and overlooks Killary Bay, the Mweelrea mountain and Croke Patrick. In the old days the people in these properties would have been involved in ship identification and sea rescue for any vessels in distress in the area. The very nature of the property suggests fantastic sea views. The close proximity to the village means there is no need to spend your holiday in the car as a good supermarket, pubs and restaurants are all on your door step There are several fabulous beaches in the area.
Renvyle is also great location for touring Connemara and is close to Renvyle House Hotel which was once the home of Oliver St John Gogarty the famous poet and now offers swimming pool, trout fishing, a small golf course and excellent food all available to the public.

Inside: This property has a glass front porch area with seats and books and the room is definitely a suntrap and ideal for sitting, relaxing and enjoying a good book and a glass of wine.
Up the wooden stair case is a twin bedroom, a bathroom with big shower and a double bedroom with an additional single bed. The twin room is small but has beds and a chest of drawers for clothes. The double bedroom is a lot bigger and has bedside lockers and lamps and a single bed. This room enjoys a sea view. The bathroom is small but has everything i.e. sink, toilet and a big shower.
Back down the stairs and through glass doors is an open plan kitchen/sitting room area. The kitchen has all mod cons and is well equipped for having friends over for dinner. There is a nice dining table and chairs. The sitting room area has two couches and open fire. There is also a small breakfast table with chairs which is centred at the big long window which looks directly out on to the sea.
The house has a very interesting collection of artefacts the owners have collected throughout the world.

There is a lock up shed for sports gear, and the washing machine/dryer is located there too.
