The winter solstice is finally here and it is all downhill until the summer. Just to show you what a difference it makes here are two photos, one of midsummer and taken on the shortest day.
Midsummer Connemara
This is the midsummer sunset, it takes place some time after 11 pm, and the light never really leaves the sky on a clear night.

Midwinter Connemara
This is a midwinter sunset, and although official sunset time is 4.20pm the light is fading well before that.
