Here they explain a little about how Norahs Kitchen came into being, what they do and how they create a take away with a difference.
Norah’s Kitchen is a family operated catering service born right here in Connemara. The true origin of Norah’s kitchen is Norah’s Cottage in Claddaghduff and historically this beautiful beachside house was a place where family joined together and took turns in showing off recipes from recent travels or maybe an up and coming restaurant they had visited. In 2020 as lockdowns loomed and people craved a takeaway, we decided that the ethos of Norah’s Kitchen was something we could share with the broader public.
With the lockdown, thankfully a distant memory, the idea of Norah’s Kitchen and its family friendly meals remain the same. Maybe you are having a party and need us to cater for it or maybe it’s your first couple of days on holiday and you just want a delicious meal ready to reheat at your leisure so you can enjoy your new surroundings with friends and family. Our aim is to facilitate that and generally take the pressure off.
Ady has a wealth of experience catering in various restaurants in the UK, Australia and Ireland and brings a unique take on the family style meal. His inspiration comes from his extensive travels and love for watching other people cook and recording their recipes. Our menu is everchanging but we always include favourites such as Connemara fish pie, Mackerel Pate, Sri Lankan Curry and Vietnamese lemongrass and coconut curried chicken.
Our new commercial kitchen is in Letterfrack Village where all of our preparation, menu development, cooking and
storage happens. We are located in Ellis Hall right in the heart of the Connemara West estate.
The best way to explore our most up to date menu is by logging onto https://norah-s-kitchen.clickandcollection.com/ Menu’s are updated once a month with a couple of alterations each week depending on available produce. Once an order has been made, a choice of two pick up points appear, one at our kitchen in Ellis Hall and, Connemara Hamper on Lower Market street in Clifden. It is also possible to select a specific time for collection.
We also specialise in onsite catering where we collaborate with our customers to create bespoke menus tailored to their needs
